TransactNow

One API for payments across South African banks.

Initiate payments through a single API. TransactNow handles the bank-specific payment instruction, submits it through the appropriate banking channel and returns the transaction status to your application.

Support for payment types such as EFT and PayShap can be exposed through the same TransactNow integration.

PayShap

Real-time payments through TransactNow.

PayShap support enables time-sensitive payments through the same TransactNow integration. Use it for eligible customer payouts, refunds and other immediate payments.

PayShap availability and transaction rules are confirmed per banking channel during onboarding.

How it works

One payment instruction. One tracked route.

  1. 01

    Submit the payment instruction

Your system sends the payment details to the TransactNow REST API.

  2. 02

    Identify the receiving bank

TransactNow identifies the banking channel and validates the instruction against the required format.

  3. 03

    Route the payment

The payment instruction is submitted through the appropriate supported banking channel.

  4. 04

    Return transaction status

Your application receives the transaction status by webhook or status query.
